Biopolymer
ASP is focused on new application developments with green polymers.
Biopolymers, according to European Bioplastic’s definition, is a term used to describe two different kinds of plastic materials:
- Polymers synthesized from renewable sources (bio-based materials)
- Biodegradable and compostable polymers according to the standard EN 13432, ASTMD 6400 or similar
It is important to underline that the two definitions aren’t mutually exclusive.
This means that a polymer can be bio-based, biodegradable/compostable, or both.
